TCU by Maxwell: A Secure way to connect your EV to the cloud
Electronic module for wireless communication, enhanced connectivity and data collection
TCU
The TCU is an embedded system on board a vehicle that wirelessly connects the vehicle to cloud services or other vehicles via V2X standards over a cellular network.
Designed to ingest data from the vehicle, battery and BMS and securely transmit to a secure cloud server for data analysis using 4G. The system is also capable to securely receive OTA updates from Maxwell Cloud, update the BMS to improve battery & vehicle performance and improve user-experience

Symmetric & Asymmetric encryption and decryption
These encryption methods ensure secure communication and data exchange within a Telematics Control Unit (TCU). Symmetric encryption uses a single key for both encryption and decryption, offering fast processing, while asymmetric encryption utilizes a key pair (public and private keys) for enhanced security.
Inertial Measurement Unit (accelerometer, gyroscope)
The Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) integrated into a TCU comprises an accelerometer and a gyroscope. It enables the unit to measure and track changes in acceleration and angular velocity, providing vital information for applications such as vehicle tracking, motion sensing, and stability control.
CAN 2.0A/B w/ support for CAN-FD migration
The TCU employs the Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol, specifically version 2.0A/B. This protocol facilitates communication between various electronic control units within a vehicle. Moreover, the TCU supports CAN with Flexible Data-Rate (CAN-FD) migration, allowing for higher data transfer rates and increased network flexibility.
Unified Diagnostics Services (UDS) over CAN
The TCU supports Unified Diagnostics Services (UDS) as a standardized diagnostic protocol over the CAN network. UDS enables efficient and consistent communication between the TCU and other vehicle control modules, facilitating diagnostic operations, fault detection, and troubleshooting.
Standards & Compliance (FCC, CE, ETSI, AIS004)
The TCU complies with several regulatory and industry standards such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Conformité Européene (CE), European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), and AIS004. Adhering to these standards ensures the TCU meets legal requirements and guarantees compatibility and interoperability with other devices and networks.
Bluetooth Connectivity
BLE enables wireless communication between the TCU and other devices, such as smartphones or tablets, allowing for seamless data exchange, remote control, or monitoring capabilities.

Tork Motors has been engaging with Maxwell since the very beginning. We knew very early on that the range of features offered by the LT platform would be the best fit for India's first e-Motorcycle. When it comes to safety and reliability we do not compromise and have really high expectations from our suppliers. The Maxwell BMS was successful in not only meeting our expectations but exceeding them in many ways and our motorcycle is now in production with the Maxwell BMS
